Obituary for Venancio R. Santos
Venancio R. Santos, 90, of Ludlow was called home to be with God on Saturday October 27, 2012. Born in Evora de Alcobaca, Portugal to the late Carlos and Maria (Assuncao) Rosario Santos, he was a long time Ludlow resident and faithful communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Parish. He served in the Portuguese Army during WWII and was a proud former member of the Gremio Lusitano Club. He was loved and cherished and it is with heartfelt sadness that he will be missed by his family. Venancio was predeceased by his beloved wife Maria (Zefarino) Santos in 2010. He leaves his son Manuel of Ludlow; daughters Fatima Santos and her husband Joe of East Longmeadow and Odete Nogueira and her husband Manuel of Ludlow; 10 cherished grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; caring brothers Antonio Santos and wife Alzira and Manuel Santos and wife Ilda all of Ludlow and brother and sisters; Carlos, Conceicao and Maria of Portugal as well as several nieces, nephews, family and friends. Sadly he was predeceased by his brother Jose and his daughter-in-law Maria Luzia Santos. Funeral services for Venancio will be held on Wednesday October 31, 2012 at 9:00am from the Ludlow Funeral Home, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00am in Our Lady of Fatima Church with burial in Island Pond Cemetery. Visiting hours are Tuesday evening from 5:00-7:00pm.
