Obituary for Virginia daSilva
Virginia (Gomes) daSilva, 92, of Ludlow, was called back into God’s care, on Saturday morning December2, 2006, with her loving family at her side. Born in Montalegre, Portugal, she lived in Ludlow since 1961. She was a faithful communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church, and will always be remembered for her generosity, kindness and sense of humor. She was the widow of Jose Da Silva, and was predeceased by a daughter Gualdina Surreira, and a great grandson Andrew Alves. Virginia leaves 5 sons, Jose, Antonio, and Abel of Ludlow, John of Spfld, and Francisco “Frank” of Florida; 4 daughters, Ines Dutra, Emilia Fonseca and Arminda “Mindy” Fernandes of Ludlow and Isabel Teixeira of Indian Orchard, as well as 15 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be Tuesday morning at 9 AM from the Ludlow Funeral Home with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10AM in Our Lady of Fatima Church. Burial will be in St. Aloysius Cemetery, and visiting hours will be Monday evening from 5-8 PM.
