Obituary for Walter D. Ricardi

Walter D. Ricardi, 67, of Ludlow, passed away peacefully on January 12, 2022 surrounded by his loving family. Wally was the son of the late Walter and Barbara Ricardi and was a United States Navy Veteran proudly serving on the USS Eisenhower. He worked for 25 years at Westvaco from where he retired and was a longtime member and bartender at the Ludlow Fish and Game Club. He was also an avid sports enthusiast, especially of the Boston Red Sox and NE Patriots. Wally was the beloved husband of Karen (Christian) Ricardi; a loving step-father to Kristie French and Jason Ahlberg; a cherished grandfather to Camrion, Haley, Devin, and Gavin; a dear brother to David Ricardi and wife Sue, Deborah Piesz, and Karen Vantangoli; and also leaves many nieces, nephews, loving extended family members, and dear friends. Family and Friends are asked to gather for a committal ceremony with Military Honors on Friday, January 21st at 9:00am directly in Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Wally’s memory to the Ludlow VFW Post 3236 for the benefit of Ludlow Veterans or TJ O’Connor Animal Shelter to honor his love of his cats.
