Obituary for Walter H. Irla
Walter H. Irla, 73, of Ludlow, was called to Heaven on December 30, 2008. Born in Ludlow, he was a lifelong resident and communicant of St. Mary of the Assumption Church. He worked for many years at B + E Tool Co. before retiring and was a member of the Knights of Columbus and former member of the Ludlow Lodge of Elks.  Walter was the beloved husband of 35 years to Grace (Corigliano) Irla; a loving father to Cynthia Ruby and her husband Kenneth Sr. , of Ludlow; a cherished grandfather of 5; great-grandfather of 1; brother to Edward Irla, of Wilbraham, and the late Mitchell Irla; and also leaves several other family members and friends. Funeral services are on Monday, Jan. 5, 2009 at 10am from Ludlow Funeral Home with Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11am in St. Mary of the Assumption Church followed by burial in St. Michael’s Cemetery. Visitation will precede the funeral from 9-10am.
