Obituary for Walter J. Piesz
Walter J. Piesz, 85, of Ludlow passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 13th, 2009. Born in Ludlow to the late Joseph and Mary (Tabol) Piesz, he was a lifelong Ludlow resident and a faithful communicant of Christ the King Parish. Walter was a proud member of the Polish American Citizens Club in Ludlow and a charter member of the former PAV in Wilbraham and he served his country honorably as a serviceman in the Merchant Marines during World War II. Walter was the beloved husband of the late Helen (Drzal) Piesz, who passed away in 1997; loving father to Kenneth Piesz and his wife Debbie of Ludlow; cherished grandfather to Erica Piesz and her husband Robert Audi of Sturbridge, Jessica Piesz of Wakefield, Rhode Island and Brian Piesz of Ludlow; caring great-grandfather to Austin Piesz of Palmer and leaves several loving nieces and nephews.  Walter leaves a sister Helen Smola of Cape Cod and was predeceased by his brother Teddy and his sisters Anne, Stella and Irene. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday December 16th, 2009. Family and friends are asked to gather for a Liturgy of Christian Burial beginning at 10:00am in Christ the King Church followed by burial in Island Pond Cemetery. Ludlow Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements and in lieu of flowers donations may be made in Walter’s memory to Shriners Hospital 516 Carew Street, Springfield, MA. 01020.
