Obituary for Walter J. Webb
Walter J. Webb, 88, of Ludlow passed away peacefully on Sunday April 11, 2021. Born in Lynn, Ma to the late Oswald and Bridget (McDermott) Webb, he has lived in Ludlow for many years and worked as a Plant Supervisor at General Abrasive in Westfield and he also was the owner of Webb Paint and Wallpaper in Ludlow. Walter was a faithful communicant of St. Elizabeth Parish and he belonged to the Knights of Columbus 3535 and the Ludlow Elks. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War and enjoyed swimming, hiking, camping and reading but most important was the love of his family. He leaves his beloved wife Magdalena “Maddy” Webb of Ludlow; loving children James Webb (Maya) of Wisconsin, Douglas Webb (Maria) of New York, Russell Webb (Pam) of Arizona, Matthew Webb of Nevada and Catherine Webb (Jen) of Rhode Island; step children Sandra Olsen (Lee) of Wilbraham and Richard Motta (Jeannette) of Three Rivers; he also leaves his 7 adored grandchildren and 2 great grandsons; his sister Kathleen Needham of Cape Cod and his late brother John “Chic” Webb. Walter's family would like to extend a special thank you to all of his friends and extended family who kept him in their prayers and especially to P.A. Rich Conroy for the exceptional medical care he gave to Walter. Funeral services for Walter will be held on Saturday, April 17th, 2021 at 9:00am from the Ludlow Funeral Home, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial celebrated at 10:00am in St. Elizabeth Church followed by burial with Military Honors in Island Pond Cemetery. A Public walk-thru visitation will be held Friday evening from 5:00-7:00pm at the Funeral Home, observing social distancing and non contact with his family.
