Obituary for William Alves
William 'Bad Boy' Alexander Alves was born in Ludlow, November 22, 1949 to the late Alexander Alves and Mabel Almeida Alves, passed away suddenly on February 17, 2017. Bill was a lifelong resident of Ludlow, graduating from Ludlow High School 1967. He then attended the University of New Hampshire. Bill was known for his sharp wit, twisted sense of humor, being a master of sarcasm and jokester extraordinaire. He was a voracious reader, loved to go hunting and fishing and loved to cook. He made the best homemade soups for everyone. He loved to travel and had his pilot's license and enjoyed flying. He also enjoyed watching the wildlife and sunsets on Haviland Pond. Bill was an avid Red Sox, Bruins and Patriots fan. He was a member of the Ludlow Fish and Game Club. He owned and operated Guardian Security Systems for 40 years. He is survived by his brothers John Alves of Sandisfield, Robert Alves of South Hadley, his sisters Marsha Alves Tucker of Palmer and Mia Alves of Ludlow and longtime friend and companion Susan Gamelli of Ware. He also leaves one nephew, three nieces, four grandnieces and three grand nephews. Bill was a wonderful brother, uncle and friend. He loved his family and he was in turn adored by them. In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Dakin Humane Society in his memory and in the memory of his beloved, belated dog Molly and his current companion Rocky, as well as the many other animals he has loved. A Celebration of Life Service will be held for Bill on Monday, February 27 at 11 AM at the Ludlow Funeral Home. Visiting hours will be held Monday morning preceding the service from 9 AM to 11 AM and burial will be at the convenience of the family.
