Obituary for William "Billy" Cabral
William “Billy” Cabral, 74, of Belchertown, was called home to God on Saturday November 3, 2007. Born in Ludlow to the late Alexander and Esmeralda (Ramos) Cabral, he was a longtime Ludlow resident and former Selectman, serving the town for 9 years. Billy worked for over 20 years at Bruschi Brothers Construction and was a faithful communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Parish. He held various titles for the Gremio Lusitano Club, the Portuguese American Citizens Club and was active in the Ludlow and Belchertown Senior Centers and the Pine Valley Plantation. He leaves his beloved wife of 47 years Monica (Leal Rebelo) Cabral of Belchertown; loving daughters Elizabeth Leary and her husband Ed of Belchertown and Tina Socha and her husband Alex of Florida; cherished grandchildren Eddie, Danny and Megan Leary all of Belchertown as well as several loving nieces, nephews and friends. Billy was predeceased by his brother Frank Cabral in 1996. Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning at 9:00AM from the Ludlow Funeral Home with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00AM in Our Lady of Fatima Church followed by burial in Island Pond Cemetery. Visiting hours are Tuesday evening from 4-7PM and donations may be made in Billy’s memory to the American Diabetes Assocation PO Box 1131 Fairfax, VA. 22038-1131.
