Obituary for William Donald Wainwright
William Donald Wainwright, 64, of Ludlow, died on August 25, 2013 at Mercy Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. Born in Ludlow, he was a lifelong resident and in his early years played in many area hockey leagues. Donald also served his country honorably in the Army National Guard in the 181 Infantry in Ware from May 1975 – Sept. 1978. Donald was a service clerk at Bob Pion Pontiac for many years before retiring and played in various area pool leagues, but his greatest joy in life was spending time with his adoring family. Donald was the loving father of Ronald G. Wainwright and his wife Jennifer, of Ludlow, and Dennis Wainwright, of West Springfield; the dear brother of James R. Wainwright, of Ludlow, and Deacon Charles Wainwright, of West Springfield; a cherished grandfather to Alexander Zwolenski-Wainwright, and Paige and Payton Wainwright; and also leaves many loving extended family members and dear friends. Friends and family are asked to gather for a Liturgy of Christian Burial on Friday, August 30th at 10:00am in St. Elizabeth Parish followed by burial in Island Pond Cemetery. Visiting hours are on Thursday evening from 5:00-8:00 at Ludlow Funeral Home.
