Obituary for William McCarthy III
Wiliam McCarthy ,73, of Ludlow passed away peacefully in his home on Thursday June 27, 2019, with his family and his dog Macy by his side. Born in Springfield he has lived in Chicopee and Ludlow. Bill served his country honorably in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War and was a proud member of the Tiger A.C. in Chicopee. He leaves his wife, Maria Gloria McCarthy of Ludlow; stepson Daniel Cordeiro and his wife Carolyn of Granby; grandchildren Felicia, Jasmine and Sean Cordeiro; his sister Marie Gottschlicht of Springfield; niece and nephew Jennifer and Patrick Gottschlicht; and his faithful dog Macy. Funeral services for Bill will be held on Tuesday, July 9, 2019 at the Ludlow Funeral Home. Visitation is Tuesday morning from 8:15am-9:45am will a Chapel service at the Funeral Home beginning at 9:45am. Burial, with Naval Military Honors will follow in the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Agawam at 11:00am At the request of the family in lieu of flowers please make donations in William’s memory to: Baystate Hospice, 30 Capital Drive, West Springfield, MA. 01089 or Shriners Hospital for Children, Carew St. Springfield.
