Obituary for Dennis W. Arnold
Dennis W. Arnold, 66, of Ludlow, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on August 31, 2020, after a brave battle with pancreatic cancer. Born in Springfield to the late Gerald and Yvette Arnold, he attended St. Joseph’s School and Cathedral High School. Dennis was a United States Veteran proudly serving his country in the US Coast Guard and went on to work for 37 years for the United States Postal Service from where he retired. In his spare time, he loved woodworking and he created many unique gifts for family and friends in “Pa’s Workshop”. His various interests included building computers, photo and video editing, playing his multiple guitars, and always listening to a wide variety of music. He was a faithful Red Sox fan for many years. Perhaps his greatest joy in life though was spending time with his grandkids.
Dennis was the beloved husband of 21 years to Donna Leary-Arnold. He also leaves behind daughter Brianne Arnone and husband Joe, cherished grandchildren Aliyah, Jack, and a grandson due in January, and daughter Kaitlyn Morell and fiancé Ase Stewart. He was predeceased by his late grandson Kalib Lewis Daniels. He was a dear son-in-law to Ed and Zinda Leary; dear brother of Linda Arnold (Sister Yvette), the late Ronald Arnold and wife Marie, the late Robert Arnold and wife Nancy, brother-in-law to Ed and Liz Leary. He also leaves his four cats whom he adored; his lifelong best friend Peter Bombard; many loving nieces and nephews, extended family members, and dear friends. A graveside Celebration of Life Service will be held on Tuesday, September 8th at 2pm directly in Island Pond Cemetery.
