Obituary for Ana (Pereira) Gonçalves Portelada
Ana (Pereira) Gonçalves Portelada, 84, of Ludlow, passed away peacefully on April 3, 2021 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Negrões, Montalegre, Portugal, she immigrated to the United States settling in Ludlow where she was a faithful communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church. She worked for many years at Milton Bradley (Hasbro), from where she retired, and as a senior citizen, she attended English classes at Ludlow Adult Learning Center; but her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family. Ana was the beloved wife of the late Manuel Gonçalves; a loving mother to Ana LeBlanc and husband Bill, of Ludlow, Domingos Gonçalves and husband Ian Backman of North Adams,MA, and the late João “John” Gonçalves and his widow Donna; a dear sister to Luisa Fernandes, of Indian Orchard, MA ;cherished grandmother of 4; and great-grandmother of 4; and also leaves several nieces, nephews, extended family members; and dear friends. Walk through No Contact Visitation will be on Friday, April 9th from 6:00 - 8:00pm in Ludlow Funeral Home. Funeral services are on Saturday morning at 9:15am with Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00am in Our Lady of Fatima Church followed by burial in Island Pond Cemetery.
