Obituary for Arlean (Balboni) Nummy
Arlean C. (Balboni) Nummy, 97, of Ludlow, passed away peacefully on July 2, 2021. Born in Springfield, she was one of thirteen children born to the late Frederick and Bertha (Chamberlain) Balboni. She spent her early years in Indian Orchard before moving to Ludlow where she was a faithful communicant of Christ the King Church and active volunteer at the Ludlow Senior Center. Arlean formerly worked for Springfield Armory, where she met her husband, and then worked several odd jobs; but will especially be remembered for her time waitressing at John’s Corner. In her spare time, she spent her time proudly maintaining her home in immaculate condition and enjoyed spending time with her family. Arlean was the beloved wife of the late William Nummy who predeceased her in 1989; a loving mother to her 6 children David Nummy and wife Marion, Caroline Ann Piper and husband Charles, William Nummy, and the late Thomas Nummy and widow Michelle, the late Lawrence Nummy, and the late Dennis Nummy; a cherished grandmother and great-grandmother to several grandchildren and their families; and also leaved many loving extended family members throughout the country. Funeral services for Arlean will be held on Monday, July 12th. Family and friends are asked to gather directly at Christ The King Church at 10:00am for a Liturgy of Christian Burial followed by burial in St. Aloysius Cemetery. There are no visiting hours.
