Obituary for José André
José (Joe) Gonçalves André, 68, of Ludlow, passed away peacefully at home on April 21, 2022 with his loving wife by his side. He was born in Padornelos, Portugal to the late José André and Virginia (Larouco) André. Immigrated here at the age of 12, he worked as a machinist at Berkshire Industries until his retirement. He was a faithful communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church and a member of the José Society and of the Gremio Lusitano Club. In his later years, he became an avid golfer, could be seen taking long walks around the Ludlow reservoir and enjoyed spending time at his second home in Florida. Joe was the beloved husband of 39 years to Idalina Seguro André; survived by loving daughter Lisa André and partner Chhun, loving daughter Cristina (André) Alexander and husband Kyle; a dear brother to Maria Fatima Morais and husband Domingos, and the late Arminda André; and also leaves behind many loving nieces, nephews, extended family and friends throughout the community. Funeral services for Joe will be held on Wednesday April 27, 2022. Visitation will take place Wednesday morning from 8:30am-10:15am at the Ludlow Funeral Home with a Liturgy of Christian Mass celebrated at 11:00am in Our Lady of Fatima Church followed by burial in Island Pond Cemetery.
