Obituary for Isaura "Hazel" F. Dos Santos
Isaura “Hazel” F. Dos Santos, 77, of Chicopee, passed away at home on December 30, 2022. Born in Porto de Mos, Portugal, she was the daughter of the late Adriano and Isaura Dos Santos. She immigrated to the United States in 1969 and settled in Indian Orchard before moving to Chicopee and worked for many years at Chicopee Undergarment from where she retired. Isaura enjoyed spending time at the Ludlow and Chicopee Senior Centers, crocheting, knitting, needlepoint, sewing, puzzles, and playing cards; as well as spending time with friends in her living community, and especially with her close friends Judy DaSilva, Emilia Pereira, and São Lamas. Isaura leaves her siblings Maria Isabel DeMatos and late husband Antonio of Indian Orchard, Adriano Dos Santos of Springfield, Conceicao Cerca and late husband Joaquim of Ludlow, Piedade “Penny” Santos Sebastiao of Hampden, and Antonio Dos Santos and his wife Viola of Ludlow; many nieces and nephews, extended family members, and dear friends. Funeral services for Isaura will be held on Saturday, January 7th. Visiting hours are from 10:00-11:00am in Ludlow Funeral Home concluding with a funeral home chapel service at 11:00am followed by burial in St. Aloysius Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Shriners Hospital for Children.
