Obituary for Robert R. Braska
Robert R. Braska, 88, of Ludlow, passed away peacefully on November 16, 2017. Born in Auxerres, France to the late Maria Rzasa, he immigrated to the United States in 1952, enlisted in the United States Army, and proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Robert was employed for many years at the former Cheney Bigelow Wire Works in Springfield and Nabisco before retiring and was also a proud member of the American Legion. Bob was an avid gardener and enjoyed working in the yard and creating beautiful flower gardens. Bob was the beloved husband of 61 years to Marguerite (Pelletier) Braska; a devoted father to the late Jeannine Pelletier and her widow Albert, of Westfield, Robert Braska and wife Nora, of Springfield, Dianne Garden and late husband Donald, of Hampden, David Braska and wife Lee, of Feeding Hills, and Anne Goncalves and husband Nundi, of Ludlow; a dear brother to the late Germaine Vennevault; a cherished Pepere of 18 and great-Pepere of 14; and also leaves many loving extended family members and dear friends. Funeral services for Bob will be on Wednesday, November 22th at 9:00am from Ludlow Funeral Home with Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00am in St. Elizabeth Parish followed by burial with Military Honors in St. Aloysius Cemetery. Visiting hours are on Tuesday from 4:00-7:00pm and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bob’s memory to Shriners Hospital for Children 516 Carew St. Springfield, Ma. 01104
