Obituary for Jose Pascoal Ferreira
Jose Pascoal Ferreira, 59, of Ludlow, passed away peacefully on August 14, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Grou, Leiria, Portugal, son of the late Joaquim Ferreira and Maria da Silva Pascoal, he immigrated to the United States in 1977 and moved to Ludlow in 1988 where he was a proud member of the Gremio Lusitano Club, the Jose Society, and communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church. Jose worked for many years in the construction industry before retiring, and in his spare time enjoyed watching soccer, routing on his favorite team Sporting, and gardening; but his greatest joy in life was spending time with his family. Jose was the beloved husband of over 33 years to Maria da Graca (Esteves) Ferreira; a loving and devoted father to Sylvia Ferreira and fiance Shawn Baker, and Andrea Ferreira, both of Ludlow; a dear brother to Antonio Ferreira and wife Conceicao, of NJ, and Manuel Ferreira and wife Conceicao, Virgilio Ferreira and wife Filomena, Cidalia Relvas, Maria dos Anjos Relvas, and Fatima Alavadio and husband Agusto, all of Portugal; and also leaves his loyal canine companions Murphy and Bosco; many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends in the US, France, Portugal, and Brazil. Funeral services for Jose will be held on Friday, August 17th. Visiting hours are from 8:30-10:15 in Ludlow Funeral Home with Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11:00am in Our Lady of Fatima Church followed by burial in St. Aloysius Cemetery.
