David K. Carrington, 76, formerly of Ludlow, passed away peacefully in Maryland on July 13, 2024 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Ludlow, David was the son of the late William and Flora (Larose) Carrington and proudly served for four years in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam Era. David was employed for over 40 years as a letter carrier for the US Post Office from where he retired as well as a former volunteer firefighter for the Ludlow Fire Department. David was an avid Los Angeles Dodgers fan, and within the community, he was a member of St. Elizabeth Parish in Ludlow and St Francis-St Mary’s in Middletown, Maryland, played several years in the Ludlow Adult Softball League, and was an avid golfer who especially enjoyed golfing with his brother Donald and friend Charlie Blancato. David leaves his beloved wife of 52 years Carol (Bissonnette) Carrington; his loving children David Carrington, Jr. and wife Theresa, of Ludlow, Jeffrey Romito and wife Lisa, of Springfield, Daniel Carrington and wife Joelle, of Arizona, Jason Carrington and wife Isabel, of Ludlow, and Rebecca Jones and husband John Paul, of Virginia; his siblings Barbara Lamb, of Monson, and Donald Carrington and wife Dorothy, of South Carolina; 10 cherished grandchildren Alexis, Sydney, Anthony, Gillian, Olivia, Jack, Kyle, Julianna, Kaitlyn, and Emily; as well as several loving extended family members and dear friends. Visiting hours for David will be held on Sunday, July 21st from 4:00-7:00pm at Ludlow Funeral Home. Funeral services are on Monday July 22nd at 9:00am from the funeral home with Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00am in St. Elizabeth Parish. Committal services with Military Honors will be held on Tuesday, July 23rd at 10:00am in the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Agawam with family and friends to gather directly at the cemetery no earlier than 9:45am.
