Paul M. Hackett II (80) passed away August 6, 2024 at Baystate Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. He joins his late son, Paul Hackett III. Paul Hackett II was born in Springfield, MA to the late Paul Hackett I and Eva (Hackett) Harris. Paul began his career (with a high school diploma) as an assembly mechanic at Pratt & Whitney. He was eventually promoted to a, globally respected, Development Assembly & Test Engineer. He was very passionate about his career and traveled the world for it. He loved sharing his stories with everyone, especially his trips to Munich, Germany and his annual visit to Octoberfest. Paul was a great leader and mentor to the Boy Scouts of America for many years. He was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting, reloading, fishing, camping, friends, movies, music, collections and entertaining. He was full of life and his enthusiasm was highly contagious. Everyone that knew Paul considered him a legend. He was a mentor to anyone that wanted to learn any of his many talents. He was very well respected by all because of his morals, ethics and pure heart. Paul’s greatest joy was spending time with his family. Paul was the beloved husband of Jerrilynn (Jeri) Stoddard Hackett. He leaves behind his devoted children Joelene Hackett, Cheryl Crisafi (Michael), Diana St. Denis (William) and Holly Korytko (John). His siblings, Charles Harris (Deena), Bufford Harris, Linda Minich (Late Tony), Darlene Mallalieu (Don). His grandchildren Cameron, Mitchell and Angelina Guzzo, Olivia Opal, Stephanie Pray (Gregory), Lauren St. Denis, William D. St. Denis (Anne), Daryl Hensley (Jeerapat), Jimmy Hensley (Sarah) and Tristan Hensley. His great-grandchildren Henry Pray, William C. St. Dennis, Arinya Hensley, Hailey and Charlotte Hensley. Funeral services for Paul will be held on Wednesday, August 14th from the Ludlow Funeral Home. Visitation is Wednesday morning from 8:30-10:15am with a Liturgy of Christian Mass celebrated at 11:00am in Christ the King Church followed by burial in Island Pond Cemetery.
