Obituary for Karen Ann (Wood) Govin
Karen Ann (Wood) Govin, 58, of East Longmeadow, passed away peacefully at home on December 22, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Springfield, daughter of the late James and Mary (Firth) Wood, she was a longtime resident of East Longmeadow and worked for 28 years at Mercy Hospital. In her spare time, Karen loved to shop at tag sales and antique shops, take road trips, especially to Mohawk Trail, and spend time with her loving family. Karen was the beloved wife of the late Edward J. Govin, Sr. who predeceased her in 2000; a loving mother to Michael D. Govin, of Springfield, Donna M. Marquardt, and husband Justin, of New Hampshire, Krystle L. Govin, of Ludlow, and the late Edward J. Govin, Jr.; the cherished grandmother of Thomas C. Graham II; a dear sister to Darlene Hobson, Cathy Simpson, William Werner, and the late Patricia Werner; and also leaves her companion Manuel Santos, of Ludlow; many loving nieces and nephews, extended family members; and dear friends. Visiting hours for Karen are on Friday, December 28th from 8:30-10:00am in Ludlow Funeral Home with Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11:00am in St. Catherine of Siena Parish followed by entombment in The Most Holy Redeemer Mausoleum at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
