Obituary for Rodette MacDonald
After a long battle with cancer, Rodette Ruth MacDonald, 57, passed away on December 21, 2018, with loved ones by her side, at Mercy Hospital. Born in Portland Maine, the daughter of the late Rodney MacDonald (2016) and Gladys (Annis) MacDonald (2008), she lived in Springfield, Ma. Rodette was employed for many years as a conductor for the Boston & Maine Railroad, and proudly served her country as a sharpshooter with the United States Army Artillery.
She leaves her beloved fiancé and companion of 35 years,Todd Roughgarden , her siblings; Jeanne MacDonald, Rodney MacDonald Jr.,and Kelly D. MacDonald Trapani, and her husband Nino. She also leaves behind her beloved nieces and nephews, grand nieces and nephews, aunts , uncles and many dear friends. Rody loved her cat's, the ocean, lobsters, music, her sweets and especially Two Lights State Park. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday afternoon January 12th at 2 P.M. at the Ludlow Funeral Home, with visiting hours from 1:15 until the time of the service. The family has request that in lieu of flowers, please make donations to the family c/o the funeral home to help offset funeral expenses.
