Obituary for Heitor Alves
Heitor Portal Alves passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on Thursday February 28, 2019 after a long fought battle with cancer and Parkinson’s. Born in Anhele Portugal, he moved to Ludlow in 1985. He is survived by his loving wife Fatima, son James, daughter Carla and her husband Daniel and his two grandchildren Elliana and Mason. Heitor is also survived by his three brothers in-law and their wives as well as several nieces and nephews and his brother and sisters from France and Portugal. He is predeceased by his parents and two brothers. Heitor’s passion in life was his family and his craft as a chef. He was the head chef at the Cavaliers Restaurant for 30 + years. His happiness was having friends and family over to his house and enjoy his food and hospitality. His loving personality making people laugh will be forever remembered by anyone that ever had the pleasure of being a guest in his house, not to mention the many songs played by Heitor on his accordion backed up by friends and family. His love was making people happy thru good food, good wine and music. Visiting hours are Wednesday morning March 6, from 8:15-10:15 at the Ludlow Funeral Home, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial celebrated at 11:00am in Our Lady of Fatima Church followed by burial in Island Pond Cemetery.
