Obituary for Irene C. (Boulrice) Marceau-Accetta
Irene C. (Boulrice) Marceau Accetta, 98, lifelong resident of Springfield, passed away peacefully on May 27, 2019 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Springfield, Irene was the daughter of the late Mose and Clara (Tavernier) Boulrice and worked for many years at Wesson Women's Hospital, but her greatest accomplishment was as a stay at home mom and raising her 7 sons. Within the community, Irene volunteered at numerous area organizations; and was also a faithful communicant of St. Catherine of Siena Parish. She also belonged to its Ladies Guild, where she formerly served as President, and was honored by the Bishop with the Holy Name Woman of the Year Award. Irene was the beloved wife of the late John Marceau, who predeceased her in 1983, and Joseph Accetta, who predeceased her in 1996; a loving mother to Daniel Marceau and wife Betty, of Somers, CT, Dick Marceau and wife Dianne, of Ludlow, Jim Marceau and wife Diane, of Ludlow, Tom Marceau, of West Richland, WA, Michael Marceau, West Richland, WA, John Marceau and wife Lisa, of Raleigh-Durham, NC, Tim Marceau and wife Kathy, of Germany, and her stepchildren Marie Enderlin and husband Lee, of Springfield, and the late Joseph Accetta; a devoted memere to 20 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; and was predeceased by siblings. Funeral services for Irene will be held on Monday, June 3rd. Visiting hours are from 8:15-9:15am in Ludlow Funeral Home with Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00am in St. Catherine of Siena Parish followed by burial in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
