Kenneth B. Alves passed away peacefully on Monday January 5th, 2026. Ken was a devoted member of Christ Community Church in Belchertown, MA. His church family played a central role in his daily life; he eagerly anticipated weekly services and social gatherings. His contributions to the church extended beyond attendance—he gave of himself through song, service, and baked goods that warmed many hearts.
He was also a veteran of the United States Air Force and served honorably. Gifted with a deep baritone singing voice Ken was a member of the Ludlow High School Concert Choir during his time there. Beyond High School he sang with the Springfield Symphony Choir for years. Ken shared a special bond with his beloved cat Samantha, whom he adopted as a kitten ten years ago. She was a constant companion and remains a beloved furry family member to him.
He is lovingly remembered by his sister Dorothy McKeon; brother David Alves and David’s wife Lisa Alves; nieces Megan McKeon (and her husband Noah McKeon) and Rachel (McKeon) Blessing (and her husband Alex Blessing); grandnieces Stevie McKeon, Flora Blessing, and Emmie Blessing. Ken was preceded in death by his parents Elizabeth (Alves) Humber and David Alves; brother- in-law Joseph McKeon; and sister-in-law Marcella (Marcy) Alves.
A Service celebrating his life will be held on January 31, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Christ Community Church 1255 Federal St., Belchertown, MA 01007.
