Obituary for Harold Vigneault
Harold “Butch” Vigneault, 68, of Austin, Texas and Ludlow, passed away peacefully on Thursday January 31, 2013 surrounded by his family. Born in Ludlow to the late Rene and Sophie (Swienton) Vigneault he was a longtime Ludlow resident and former communicant of St. John The Baptist Church. Butch was a United States Marine veteran who proudly served his country during the Vietnam War earning the Good Conduct Medal and National Defense Service Medal. He was a huge movie buff and cherished the time spent with his loving family especially Gabby and Connor. Butch was the beloved husband of Silvia (Herrera) Vigneault; loving father to Steve Vigneault and his wife Amanda of Springfield, Michael Vigneault and his wife Cynthia of Austin and Lynn Pollard and her husband Jim of Ludlow; caring grandfather of Rachel, Amanda, Justin, Colin, David, Kyle, Marina, Alexus and Connor and great-grandfather to Gabriella; he leaves his brothers Rene, Ray, Kenneth, Dana, Dennis and his sisters Carol, Diane and Debra as well as several cherished nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Sadly Harold was predeceased by his son Matthew Vigneault. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 6th, 2013. Family and friends are asked to meet at St. Elizabeth Church at 8:45am for a Liturgy of Christian Burial, followed by a funeral procession to the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Agawam where burial will take place with full Military Honors. Visiting hours are Tuesday evening only from 4:00-7:00pm from the Ludlow Funeral Home.
