Obituary for Florinda (Fonseca) Santos
Florinda (Fonseca) Santos, 89 of Ludlow passed away peacefully on Friday March 11, 2011 with her family by her side. Born in Ludlow to the late Francisco and Maria (Paula) Fonseca, she was raised in Portugal and came to Ludlow in 1947, where she settled and raised her family. Florinda was a faithful communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Parish and enjoyed cooking and spending time with her loving family. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Manuel Santos in 2009. Florinda leaves her caring children; Victor Santos and his wife Genevieve, Idalina Lavoie and her husband David, Manny Santos Jr. and his wife Sue and Mary Lou Magagnoli and her husband Joe; 10 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and a great-great grandson; her cherished sister Barbara Chaves as well as many nieces and nephews. Sadly she was predeceased by her 3 sisters and 1 brother. Florindas family would like to thank her caregivers for the love and care they provided for her. Also a heartfelt thank you to the Ludlow Firefighters/Paramedics and the Ludlow Police Department for their quick response, understanding and professionalism. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday March 15th, at 10:00am from the Ludlow Funeral Home with a Liturgy of Christian Burial celebrated in Our Lady of Fatima Church at 11:00am followed by burial in Island Pond Cemetery.
