Obituary for Ludgero "Jerry" Almeida
Ludgero “Jerry” Almeida, 75, of Leeds, died Thursday Sept. 6, 2007. Born in Ludlow, he was a retired Linesman and Asst. Engineer for the Mass Electric Co. for 33 years.  Jerry proudly served his country during the Korea Conflict with the US Army, and was a member of the 187th ARCT RAKKASSRNS.  He leaves his wife of 18 years, Loraine (Dupuis) Almeida; his siblings; Mary Almeida, Joe Almeida, Margaret Mathias, Casey Almeida, Julie Bertini and Amy Kania; as well as 3 step children, 4 step grandchildren, a step great grandchild, many wonderful nieces and nephews and good friends.  He was predeceased by a brother Antonio and 2 sisters Gussie Aloisa and Virginia Almeida.  Funeral services will be Monday morning at 9 AM from the Ludlow Funeral Home with a Liturgy of Christian Burial in Our Lady of Fatima Church at 10 AM.  Burial will be in Island Pond Cemetery.  Visiting hours are on Sunday from 4-7 PM and in lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the American Heart Assoc. 20 Spleen St. Framingham, Ma. 01701-4668, or American Cancer Society, PO BOX 22718 Oklahoma OK., 73123-1718.
