Obituary for Edward M. Hawrylciw
Edward M. Hawrylciw, 71, of Springfield, passed away peacefully on November 9, 2019. Born in Ludlow on February 24, 1948, son of the late Michael and Sophie (Witowski) Hawrylciw, he worked for 25 years for the U.S. Postal Service before recently retiring. In his spare time, he enjoyed watching videos, especially Sci-Fi, and had an affinity for history, photography, toy soldiers, and tanks. Edward was the beloved husband of the late Isabel “Bunny” (Lauderdale) Hawrylciw, who predeceased him in 2008; He leaves to cherish his memory, his daughter Jacqueline Baptiste and husband Alonzo, of Springfield; a granddaughter Lindsey Baptiste, and great-grandson Jesiah, of TX. He was a brother to Michael Hawrylciw, Jr. (late wife Marjory), of E. Greenbush, NY, Joseph Hawrylciw (wife Carolyn), of Brockton, MA, and the late Chester (late wife Sally), and the late Richard Hawrylciw. Sadly, Edward was predeceased by his dear uncle Peter Hawrylciw in 2018. He also leaves several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews; longtime friends Rosemary Tracy Woods, and Jay Dee George; Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 16th. Visiting hours are from 10:00am -11:00am in Ludlow Funeral Home 432 East St. concluding with a Celebration of Life Service at 11:00am followed by burial in Island Pond Cemetery, Ludlow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Edward’s memory to the American Red Cross (www.redcross.org)
