Obituary for Antonio Alves
Antonio Alves, 85, of Ludlow passed away on Sunday June 12, 2016. Born in Tras-os-Montes Portugal on July 20 1930, he has lived in Ludlow for many years and was a faithful communicant of Our lady of Fatima Church and a proud member of the Gremio Lusitano Club. He worked at Ala-vel in 3 Rivers and then Moore Drop Forge (Easco Hand Tools) in Springfield until his retirement in 1996. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Maria Alves in 1995. Antonio leaves his loving children Jose Alves and wife Rosa and Aida Sanches and husband Aires all of Ludlow; cherished grandchildren Christine Maria Pina and her husband Victor of South Windsor, CT., Jose A. Sanches and wife Chanelle of Ludlow, Joshua A. Alves and Jeffrey V. Alves both of Ludlow; adored great-grandchildren, Victor Pina 4, Lucas Sanches 3, Cristiano Pina 1, and the newest member to the family Cole Sanches 2 weeks; also Antonio leaves his brother Domingos Marques and sister Maria Dinis. Funeral services will be held on Thursday June 16, 2016 from the Ludlow Funeral Home. Visiting hours are from 9:00-10:15am Thursday morning with a Liturgy of Christian Burial celebrated at 11:00am in Our Lady of Fatima Church followed by burial in Island Pond Cemetery. Donations can be made in Antonio's memory to Our Lady of Fatima Parish.
